Bernd Rosemeyer in the Auto-Union C-Type Streamliner aggressively pursues the lead of Rudolf Caracciola in his Mercedes W25 Streamliner at the AVUS. Caracciola won the race but it was Rosemeyer's 4:11.2 lap time at an average speed of 276.39 kph that made the history books, a record that remained unbroken for 34 years. Initially the cars had been painted white, but they exceeded the new 750Kg limit so team manager Alfred Neubauer had them stripped to bare metal to save weight - and the "Silver Arrows" were born! This artist's proof has been signed by Manfred von Brauchitsch as well as the artist. (40x27")
